School of Engineering Programmes & Admissions
The following programmes are offered in the School through Regular, Part-time, Evening, and Weekend Modes:
Master of Science in Computer Science
Minimum Requirements

The candidate must be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree of at least Second-Class Honors (Upper Division), in a computing field such as Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science or related programmes that include Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics from institutions recognized by Machakos University Senate and the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Candidates with at least a Second-Class Honors (Lower Division) degree in any of the disciplines specified in Section 2.7.1 (a) above must have at least two years of relevant work experience.

In addition, common regulations governing the Master’s programmes in all Schools and the Graduate School of the Machakos University and those in the School of Engineering and Technology shall apply.
Master of Science in Information Technology
Minimum Requirements

The candidate must be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree of at least Second Class Honors (Upper Division), in a computing field such as Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Cloud Computing of Machakos University or related programmes in computing, mathematics and engineering from institutions recognized by Machakos University Senate and the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Candidates with at least a Second Class Honors (Lower Division) degree in any of the disciplines specified in Section 2.6.1 (a) above must have at least two years of relevant work experience.

Bachelor of Science (Computer Science)

(KCSE Mean Grade C+(Plus) with C+(Plus) in English and C+(Plus) in Mathematics
OR
Mean Grade C (Plain) at KCSE and a Diploma in IT with Credit Pass
Bachelor of Science (Cloud Computing and Information Security)
Minimum Requirements
(KCSE Mean Grade C+(Plus) with C+(Plus) in English, C+(Plus) in Mathematics and C+(Plus) in Physics
Bachelor of Science (Telecommunication & Information Technology)
Minimum Requirements
(KCSE Mean Grade C+(Plus) with C+(Plus) in English and C+(Plus) in Mathematics
OR
Mean Grade C (Plain) at KCSE and a Diploma in IT with Credit Pass
Bachelor of Science (Information Technology)
Minimum Requirements
(KCSE Mean Grade C+(Plus) with C+(Plus) in English and C+(Plus) in Mathematics
OR
Mean Grade C (Plain) at KCSE and a Diploma in IT with Credit Pass
Bachelor of Science (Electrical and Electronic Engineering)
Minimum Requirements
KCSE Mean Grade C+ (Plus) with a minimum of B+(Plus) or equivalent in Mathematics and Physics and B(Plain) in Chemistry and English
OR
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with a Diploma of Credit pass in relevant field of study from a recognized institution.
Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering)
Minimum Requirements
KCSE Mean Grade C+ (Plus) with a minimum of B+(Plus) or equivalent in Mathematics and Physics and B(Plain) in Chemistry and English
OR
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with a Diploma of Credit pass in relevant field of study from a recognized institution.
Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering)
Minimum Requirements
KCSE Mean Grade C+ (Plus) with a minimum of B+(Plus) or equivalent in Mathematics and Physics and B(Plain) in Chemistry and English
OR
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with a Diploma of Credit pass in relevant field of study from a recognized institution.
HCNA Certification
HCNA Certification validates the knowledge and skills required for basic configuration and maintenance of small to medium-sized networks. The HCNA curriculum includes, but is not limited to the following:
1.Network fundamentals
2. Basic connection methods of popular
3. Network Basics
4. Construction
5. Troubleshooting of common network faults
6. Installation and commissioning of Huawei routing and switching devices
Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power & Telecommunication Options)
Minimum Requirements
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C- (Minus) in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and English or Kiswahili. Mean Grade of C-(Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with certificate in related field from a recognized institution
Diploma in Building Construction Technology
Minimum Requirements
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C- (Minus) in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and English or Kiswahili. Mean Grade of C-(Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with certificate in related field from a recognized institution
Diploma in Civil Engineering
Minimum Requirements
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C- (Minus) in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and English or Kiswahili. Mean Grade of C-(Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with certificate in related field from a recognized institution
Diploma in Information Communication Technology
Minimum Requirements
KCSE Mean Grade C(Plain), with C(Plain) in both Mathematics and English
OR
Certificate holders in a related field with KCSE Mean Grade C-(Minus) and a C-(Minus) in both Mathematics and English
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production, Plant and Automotive options)
Minimum Requirements
Mean Grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C- (Minus) in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and English or Kiswahili. Mean Grade of C-(Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with certificate in related field from a recognized institution
